The queue runs out the door. Your phone rings too.
On the busiest morning of the week you adjust saddles while three messages come in asking if there are e-bikes left. Whoever gets no answer rents somewhere else.

Your colleague promised it on the phone yesterday, you promised it by email this morning. Now you explain at the counter that there is no tandem after all.

Four e-bikes stood ready all morning for a group that stayed home. Those bikes could have gone to someone else.

There is a feature in Be-Bookable for each of those three moments. This is what it looks like for your customer.
Saturday, 09:15
Your webshop answers "is there an e-bike left?" by itself. Your customer picks a date, a start time and the number of bikes, sees the total price right away and pays online. You don't even have to pick up your phone.
What your customer sees: a date, start time 10:00, two e-bikes, total €36.

Sunday, 13:30
For each bike you set how many you have. Every booking takes them out of stock for that time, whether it comes in through the webshop or you enter it for a customer at the counter. Want time between two rentals to charge the battery or check the bike? That time counts too.
What your customer sees: the tandem is already rented in the morning, so they pick 13:00.

After a rainy week
With Mollie connected, customers pay right when they book. A reserved bike is a paid bike. And with every bike you offer a helmet, a lock or a child seat. For each accessory you decide whether it is optional or required.
What your customer sees: tick a helmet and a child seat, and the total follows.

In practice
Every bike rental is different. These are common settings per type of bike.
| What you rent out | Rental prices | Useful to set up |
|---|---|---|
| City bikes | Per hour and per day | Open 9:00 to 18:00, so customers start within your hours |
| E-bikes | 1 hour, 4 hours or a whole day | An hour after each rental to charge the battery |
| Cargo bikes | Per day and per weekend | Book at least 1 day ahead, so you can get them ready |
| Tandems | A fixed block of 4 hours | One product per type, with its own stock |
| Helmets and child seats | As an accessory with the bike | Optional or required, per accessory |
| Inner tubes and rain ponchos | As a sale item, no rental period | Goes into the cart next to the rental |

To be fair
No idea is too crazy: what rental businesses ask for often moves up our roadmap.
About Be-Bookable
Be-Bookable grew out of Goede Buur Silent Disco, the rental business of one of our founders. Customers there have booked and paid by themselves from day one, and the stock is always right. Today other rental businesses run on it too.
Yes. You give every bike one or more rental prices, such as 1 hour, half a day of 4 hours or a whole day. With a price per hour, the customer picks a start time from the time slots within your opening hours.
Getting started is free and your first 100 orders cost nothing. After that you pay €19.99 per month, excluding VAT. Be-Bookable takes no commission on your rentals. There is no contract and you can stop every month.
With variants. You give a bike its frame sizes, for example 53 cm and 57 cm, each with its own stock. Your customer picks the size on the product page.
Online through Mollie, with the payment methods you switch on in your own Mollie account, such as iDEAL, credit card or PayPal. You can also offer your own payment option, such as paying at pickup.
Yes. In your shop settings you choose how customers pay it: held on their credit card shortly before the rental starts, paid online with the booking, or at pickup. You set one deposit for the whole shop, and a different amount per product where needed. After the return you give it back, or keep part of it with a reason.
Yes. Switch on handover and return under Integrations. On your phone you record what the customer takes and brings back, in what condition, with photos and the signature of the customer on the screen. The customer can get a receipt by email, so you can show what was agreed if there is damage.
Yes. Switch on pickup codes under Integrations and set up a key safe or a code lock yourself. The customer gets a code shortly before pickup, by email and in their customer account. You choose a fixed code or a new 6-digit code per order.
Yes. With New order you create a booking for a customer yourself. Be-Bookable checks whether the bikes are free, so the stock in your webshop is right straight away.
Yes. You share the link to your shop, or you add it to your existing website with a snippet of code, whether it is built in WordPress, Shopify or something else.
