Let customers ask first, and confirm with a quote
In short
- Switch your shop to requests: customers pick their products and dates and send a request, without a payment step.
- You check the request, adjust the order if needed and send a quote. The customer accepts it and pays, or declines it.
- While you decide, the products stay reserved for that period, so nobody else books them.
Why booking requests matter
Not every rental can be booked blind. For a large event, custom work or a busy weekend you want to check the order first. With requests, customers still book in your shop, and you decide.
No payment step
Customers fill in their details and send the request. They pay only after they accept your quote.
Stock stays reserved
The products in a request are reserved for that period while you review it.
You send the quote
Adjust products, prices or dates on the order and send a quote with one button.
How Be-Bookable solves it
- Switch on requests. Under Shop Settings, in the Start of booking panel, switch on Customers send a request instead of paying right away. It applies to your whole shop.
- Customers send a request. The product page and the cart say that your shop works on request. The checkout has no payment step and the button reads Send request. This works in your shop and in the booking widget, see website widget.
- You review it. You get an email about the new request, and the order has the status Request in your dashboard. Adjust the order if needed and click Send quote, see quotes.
- The customer decides. The customer accepts the quote and pays with the payment options you offer, or declines it. A declined quote cancels the order and frees the products.
Booking requests in the real world
Where a request works better than a direct booking:
| Rental type | Customer asks for | What you check first |
|---|---|---|
| Party rental | A dance floor and tables for 150 guests | Room and power at the venue |
| Event venues | A hall for a Saturday evening | The setup and the number of guests |
| Party tents | A large tent on a lawn | Whether the ground is suitable |
| Machine rental | A mini excavator for a week | Access to the site and transport |
Frequently Asked Questions
Do customers pay when they send a request?
No. The checkout has no payment step. Customers pay after they accept your quote.
Are the products reserved while I review the request?
Yes. The products in a request stay reserved for that period, so they cannot be booked twice. A declined quote cancels the order and frees them again.
Can I use requests for some products only?
No. The switch applies to your whole shop. Every booking in your shop is then a request.
Does a request count as revenue in my reports?
No. A request counts as revenue only once the customer has accepted the quote.
